It is very common to get angry. Everyone does it. no matter how hard you think you try you will get upset or angry. The thing that could make you stand above the rest is what you do with that anger.
There are numerous ways to accomplish "avoiding" your anger. One thing I found that is easy to do is to distract your self. For example , I like to play video games. When I feel angry or upset I just go play video games. You can do whatever you enjoy doing. It will calm you down so that way you don't say things you don't mean and you will save your self a lot of grief. Another way is to just think about EVERY thing you say before you say it. For example, you want to say something really bad or mean to somebody--but you won't want to say that. You might regret it if you do.
Think about what you say. This will, a) give you time to call down more and b) it might make you not say something you will regret later on.

Thanks Walter, for your ideas. Distracting yourself with video games is a good idea once in a while, and it apparently works really well for you. Anything to avoid the blowup that you will regret, like you said. Keep up the good work!
You might also want to face the issues behind your anger at some point, so that you're not constantly running from one distraction to another.
My best to you,
Dr. DeFoore
